Ginger, Soy and Whiskey Grilled Chicken

Ginger, Soy and Whiskey Grilled Chicken

Summer time is grilling time. And what better way to grill chicken than with a little extra flavor and whiskey. This recipe, shared from Whiskey Notes is equal parts easy and delicious. Serve it with a Pinot Grigio, a Dry Riesling or a Gewurztraminer. Given the spices in this dish, a white wine with fruit notes, like these – will help balance the spices.

Ingredients
3-lb whole chicken, carved (or if you prefer, your choice of already cut-up chicken parts)
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
2 garlic cloves, minced
3 Tbl soy sauce
3 Tbl brown sugar
1/2 lime, juiced (or 1 1/2 tsp white wine vinegar)
1 ounce whiskey/bourbon/scotch (be sure to pick up your whiskey of choice at Bremer’s)
freshly ground black pepper
