TASTINGS

Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey: Old Forester and Woodford Reserve

Old Forester 1870 Original Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Old Forester Statesman Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Old Forester 1870 Original Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey: “Old Forester 1870 Original Batch echoes George Garvin Brown’s original 1870 batching process. Back then, Brown batched barrels obtained from three distilleries to create a consistent flavor profile. To emulate that process today, we also select barrels from three warehouses, each barrel originating from a different day of production, with a different entry proof and a different age profile.”

Old Forester Statesman Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey: “Inspired by the dynamic characters in the film,”Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” Old Forester Statesman offers bold flavor blended to a smooth 95 proof from hand-selected casks of our famed Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky from the warmest places in the warehouse. Because true character is only revealed after a little heat, the Statesman product offers an exceptional balance of heat and spice.”

Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey: “The art of making fine bourbon first took place on the site of the Woodford Reserve Distillery, a National Historic Landmark, in 1812. The perfectly balanced taste of our Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is comprised of more than 200 detectable flavor notes, from bold grain and wood, to sweet aromatics, spice, and fruit & floral notes.”

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey: “An innovative approach to twice-barreled bourbon creates the rich and colorful flavor of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. Uniquely matured in separate, charred oak barrels – the second barrel deeply toasted before a light charring – extracts additional amounts of soft, sweet oak character. It is the unique alteration of the fifth source of flavor, maturation, which tells the real story of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked.”

Rye, Wheat, Scotch and Bourbon

Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whiskey, Bernheim Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey, Aultmore Foggie Moss Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whiskey and Elijah Craig Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whiskey: “Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whiskey has a storied past with a heritage that commemorates Philadelphia’s famous Rittenhouse Square. This award-winning whiskey carries a distinct, spicy flavor, and is produced in the tradition of the classic rye whiskeys that once dominated American whiskey.”

Bernheim Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey: “This Heaven Hill Distillery original is named for the famed Bernheim Distillery here in Louisville. 7-Year-Old Wheat whiskey, Bernheim Original is the first new style of American whiskey to be introduced since Prohibition. Aged for 7 years in our traditional open rickhouses, Bernheim’s mellow taste is refreshingly smooth when served straight or in cocktails.”

Aultmore Foggie Moss Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whiskey: “From the fog came the Fable. Crisp notes of apples and pears with an aromatic floral finish.”

Elijah Craig Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey: “Uncut, straight from the barrel without chill filtering, the nose, taste, and finish created by twelve years of aging are preserved in their simplest form. At full barrel proof, you can enjoy Elijah Craig much the same way our Master Distillers do when they sample straight from the barrel in our Kentucky rickhouses. It’s a bold and honest expression of what charred oak barrel aging can do for Bourbon, from the man who originated the process.”

AND…..

Henry McKenna Single Barrel Bourbon

Voted 2018 Best Bourbon Across All Categories AND Best Single Barrel Bourbon in the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Henry McKenna Single Barrel Bourbon:This high proof, Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon was named for Henry McKenna, the Irish immigrant who adapted his family’s whiskey recipe to work the grains he found in Kentucky. Henry McKenna is the longest aged Bottled-in-Bond available today, resting in the barrel through 40 Kentucky seasons. Critics agree that this is perfectly balanced Bourbon.
