If you’re sick and tired of pulling out your headphones and having to spend the next 10 minutes untangling them, this trick will be a lifesaver.

First thing you will want to do is mark three lines to the center of the bottom of the cork (like a peace sign). Then mark another line about 1/3 up from the bottom of the cork.

Next take your x-acto knife and cut out where you marked the line on the side about 1/8″ deep. This will be the anchor to hold in the cord when you start wrapping it around.

Next take the screwdriver and poke a hole in the bottom of the cork about a 1/2″ deep. Test putting the headphone jack in to know when to stop. Then carve out the three lines you drew on the top of the cork. Test putting the cord in as you go so you know how deep to make these.

When you are done you can plug the headphone jack in and wrap your headphones around it. Once you get to the top put the wires through 2 out of the 3 holes you carved. And viola! Now your headphones can easily fit in your purse or pocket without getting all tangled.
