E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône Red – 750ML

WA 91

Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah

Tasting Notes

Deep and dark red. Shiny. Aromas of fresh fruits with red berries and spices. Full, round and racy. Rounded and smooth tannins. A full-bodied, rich and intensely aromatic wine. Full with a long finish and plenty of elegance and finesse due to the well balanced tannins and fruit.

Serving Suggestion

Cold meats, meat, game bird and cheese.

Wine Advocate

91 Points // Strongly marked by bold fruit on the nose, the 2019 Cotes du Rhone features scents of blackberries, raspberries and cherries. Medium to full-bodied, it's atypically rich and structured—a fine, balanced summation of the vintage.
92 Points, Jeb Dunnuck // The 2019 Côtes Du Rhône will be a no-brainer purchase. This Syrah-heavy red has lots of blackberry, bouquet garni, and peppery notes in a ripe, full-bodied, textured style. It’s well worth buying and drinking over the coming 5-7 years. 90 Points, Decanter // A benchmark entry-level Côtes du Rhône from a classic Rhône Valley producer. A medium aromatic intensity of blackberries, spice, and black pepper. The palate is textured and serves the same dark fruit plus spice notes. The wine (like most Côtes du Rhônes) shines with food.
