When owners John and Lane Giguiere started their first winery in 1983, they were young and enthusiastic with dreams much bigger than their bank account. The first years were financed by credit cards and hope, until they felt like they were down to their last Sawbuck before R.H. Phillips and Toasted Head became wine brands.
Tobacco and black cherry exemplify the aromas of this easy drinking Sawbuck Cabernet Sauvignon. The classic bouquet in the nose carries over to the juicy, herbal flavors on the palate with a touch of cigar box, cherry tobacco and a hint of red licorice. Dusty tannins set off some barrel spice and woody characters for a long, lingering finish.
