Spicy Margaritas

In honor of National Tequila Day (Saturday, July 24th 2021) – here are some spicy Margarita Recipes to add a little spice to your celebration!


SPICY MARGARITA by Liquor.com

Ingredients:
1. 1 lime wedge
2. 2 jalapeño coins, seeds removed
3. 2 ounces blanco tequila
4. 1/2 ounce orange liqueur
5. 1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
6. 1/2 ounce agave syrup
7. Garnish: salt rim
8. Garnish: jalapeno coin

Instructions
Rub the rim of a rocks glass with a lime wedge, dip the rim in salt to coat, and set aside.
Add the jalapeño coins to a shaker and gently muddle.
Add the blanco tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and agave syrup, plus ice, and shake until well-chilled.
Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
Garnish with a jalapeño coin.


D*MN GOOD SPICY MARGARITA by Mel Drake

Ingredients:
1. Kosher salt (fine)
2. Ice cubes
3. 2 oz (good quality) Tequila
4. 1 oz Triple sec
5. 1/2 Lime, seeded and juiced
6. 1/2 Tablespoon agave nectar
7. 1/4 to 1/2 Jalapeño pepper, cut into thin, round slices (use more for additional kick and spice)
8. Splash of OJ, freshly squeezed
9. 1 lime, cut into wedges (garnish)
10. Cilantro (garnish)

Instructions
Rim the glass: Pour a thin layer of salt onto a small plate. Take a lime wedge and coat the rim of a rocks glass to moisten it. Then dip the rim of the glass in the salt, rotating until coated. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.
Make the spicy margarita with jalapeño: Fill a cocktail shaker half way with ice cubes. Add tequila, triple sec, lime juice, agave nectar, jalapeño slices and a splash of orange juice. Close tightly and shake (like HELL) vigorously until the outside of the metal shaker becomes foggy or frosty. Strain into the iced salt rimmed glass. Garnish with lime wedges, jalapeño slices and cilantro (if you want to get extra jazzy) and serve.

ANEJO SPICY MARGARITA by Don Julio

Ingredients:
1. 1.25OZ Don Julio Añejo Tequila
2. 0.25OZ Grand Marnier
3. 0.5OZ Lime Juice
4. 0.25OZ Simple Syrup
5. 1TSP Chipotle Chili Powder
6. 1 Lime Wedge

Instructions
Pour Don Julio Ańejo Tequila, Grand Marnier, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, and Chili Powder into an ice-filled cocktail shaker.
Shake vigorously.
Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.
Garnish with a lime wedge.
Salt or sugar rim optional.


GHOST SPICY MARGARITA by Ghost Tequila

Ingredients:
1. 1.5 oz Ghost Tequila
2. .5 oz Agave Nectar
3. .75 oz Lime Juice (to taste)
4. Salt Rim Garnish

Instructions
Pour ingredients into a shaker full of ice and shake vigorously until chilled.
Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.
Salt rim optional.


SPICY JALAPEÑO MARGARITA by Tequila Patrón – Blake Thompson

Ingredients:
1. 1.5 oz Patrón Silver infused with jalapeño*
2. .5 oz Flavor puree (blood orange, mango or fresh beet)
3. 3 oz Lime juice
4. + Salt rim
5. + Lime wedge and sliced jalapeño for garnish

Instructions
Combine all ingredients over ice in a shaker.
Shake and strain into a salt rimmed double old fashioned glass.
*Patrón Silver infused with jalapeño:
Add 2 whole jalapeños cut down the middle and deseeded into 1 bottle of Patrón Silver.
Let rest for 12 hours.
