Pairing Wine and Pizza for Pi Day

Pizza is a go-to takeout meal for a lot of us. We’re busy and we’re tired, and we want someone else to cook us up some comfort food. However, it can be just as easy (and fun) to pair a wine with pizza. Here are some of our suggestions:

Mushroom – a light, earthy Pinot Noir (Pictured, Firesteed Pinot Noir).

Pepperoni – a hearty Italian Tuscan Blend (pictured, Carpineto Dogajolo Rosso)

Veggie – a slightly fruity Chenin Blanc or Chenin Blanc Blend (pictured, Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc/Viognier)

Buffalo Chicken – a slightly sweet Riesling that can go head-to-head with the spiciness of the Buffalo sauce (pictured, Dr. Loosen Riesling).

White pizza – sparkling rosé (pictured, Korbel Brut Rosé)

If you really get into wine and pizza pairings, Wine Enthusiast, Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, and Decanter all have much more detailed takes on pairings. And let’s not forget the pie chart for wine and pizza!
