Tasting Notes

Aromas of cherry and chocolate follow through on the palate. Pronounced tannins with a smoky oak finish.

Wine Advocate

89+ points - Wine Advocate // The 2016 Cabernet Franc was aged for 18 months in 90% used oak (mostly American, with a little French and Hungarian for the last fifth). It comes in at 12.5% alcohol. Tight, tannic and unevolved, this is all about the potential just now. One key issue is the woodå_åÑåÓit covers the wine and mutes the grape's personality. The depth is just average, but the structure here suggests that this can age, develop and have a chance to pull in the wood. It should smooth out in terms of tannins. Even at the moment, this is pleasing, but it preferably needs a year or two in the cellar. It is a good value. There were 217 cases produced. -Mark Squires (June, 2019)
