Vineyard & Varietal Information

The 3 acre block was planted in 2013 on a sight of silt loam soil profile and slope ranging from 3-8degrees. We have three clones planted on our estate- 376, 530, and musque. The wines are grafted to root stock 3309 and planted in our "Middle Block" on an eastern facing slope over looking Cayuga Lake.

Vinepair

90 Points, Vinepair // In 1972, Maren and Cameron Hosmer planted their first vines on the gentle slopes of Cayuga Lake, establishing the Patrician Verona Vineyard. After years of selling their grapes, the pair decided to create the Hosmer Winery and bottle their own estate wines in 1985. The 70 acre vineyard has continued to allow them to exclusively produce wines with estate-grown fruit ever since. Though they produce great Riesling, as is expected in the Finger Lakes, Hosmer's Sauvignon Blanc is another interesting bottle to try. It has notes of fresh summer melon, ripe pineapple, and lime with hints of grass and hay throughout. There's a nice roundness on the finish, but it still has that signature Finger Lakes acidity.
