LAKEWOOD VINEYARDS
Oct 19 @ 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
LAKEWOOD VINEYARDS

Free tasting of Lakewood Vineyard’s Abby Rose, Cabernet Franc, Long Stem Red, Long Stem White, Niagara and Port

Abby Rose: “The nose of this bright crimson wine is a vibrant mix of vanilla & strawberry aromas. Sweet fruity flavors are artfully balanced on the palate by the wine’s natural acidity. A playfully nostalgic palate insists you drop all pretensions, relax, and enjoy. Best served chilled.”

Cabernet Franc: “A brilliantly red, medium bodied wine with subtle aromas of blackberry, tea and rich earth cocoa in the nose and on the palate. Light tannins flesh out the mid-palate before finishing dry with a modicum of smoky oak.”

Long Stem Red: “A fruit forward blend of four French-American grape varieties. The bouquet of Long Stem Red is a plush, earthy mix of briar fruit, vanilla and plum. Supple tannins and moderate acid compliment the rich jammy palate. Hints of cranberry emerge in the soft finish. Especially good with dark meats, and grilled foods.”

Long Stem White: “This German style white wine opens with notes of tangerines and grapefruit on a light floral background. It’s crisp appley palate yields to a clean medium light finish. A perfect accompaniment to Caesar salad and many other dishes featuring garlic and cheese.”

Niagara: “Lakewood Vineyards Niagara is bursting with the fresh aromatic fruitiness of the Niagara grape, like an autumn stroll through the vineyards. Our careful cold vinification preserves this luscious essence. The perfect picnic wine.”

Port: “Made from extremely ripe, partially raisined grapes, this scarlet colored Port has a big nose of black raspberries and currants. The palate is velvety and warm with lingering notes of cassis and a hint of anise. The perfect accompaniment to cold nights and warm fires. The 2015 Port is delicious with flavorful blue cheese or rich dark chocolate (62% cocoa or more).”

The criminally intense toasty oak notes have hints of butterscotch and honey balanced with layers of ripe fruit. This full bodied, powerful wine finishes with rich notes of butter and vanilla.”

19 Crimes The Uprising: “Aged 30 days in rum barrels. In making 19 Crimes “The Uprising” we selected particular wine parcels for their spice and concentration of flavor providing the wine with great intensity and lusciousness on the palate. The vintage 2016 is Shiraz dominant lending bright raspberry fruit and plush tannin structure with Cabernet Sauvignon to provide blackberry fruits, palate weight and structure and then Grenache to provide spice and fruit sweetness on the palate. The nose has intense lifted mocha, caramel and baking spice notes. On the palate the wine is full and mouth coating with brown sugar, jammy blackberry and chocolate notes. Blend: 50% Shiraz, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Grenache.”

Greg Norman Shiraz/Cabernet: “Greg Norman Estates Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon is a dark crimson-red color in the glass. Bountiful aromas of red berry, dark cherry, plum and cranberry are pronounced on the nose. Additional light spice and cedar wood notes, derived from the oak maturation, add depth and complexity to the overall bouquet of the wine. ¬e medium-bodied wine is generous and finely structured with soft and supple tannins. A rich array of red and dark-berry fruit, cranberry, anise and black cherry flavors linger on the flavorful palate”

Blass Cabernet: “Blass Reserve Release Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, varietal red wine with lifted aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum complexed with savory oak. The palate is smooth and generous, with supple tannins and lingering flavor.”

Beaujolais-Villages: “Strong red purple color. Fresh red fruits on the nose with a hint of dark cherry. Slightly spicy with a touch of grey pepper, licorice and a touch of rose flower.
