Tasting Notes

The Catena Cabernet Sauvignon shows a dark ruby color with violet tones. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of ripe raspberries and cassis with notes of pepper, clove, and a touch of cedar. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rich and displays layers of black currant and black raspberry with notes of cedar and oregano. This Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant wine with silky tannins that provide structure and a long and persistent finish.

92 Points // The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Catena also has an 8% dash of Cabernet Franc and a 2% drop of Petit Verdot from four different vineyards in Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley. This wine was aged for eight months in barrels. Vivid purple in hue. The attractive nose offers ripe redcurrant and plum with hints of oak and a touch of sour cherry over a little ash and gentle jalapeño aromas. Terse and voluminous in the mouth, the medium body and juicy freshness give rise to a bold, fruity flavor.

This is juicy and round within the serious and clean style without any excess of the wines from Catena. It's medium-bodied, with fine-grained tannins and a dry finish. It's a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
