Tasting Notes
The Vinho Verde region in northern Portugal has become known for slightly fizzy, fruity whites. This delicious wine is a little different. Still easy-going and refreshing, it offers no fizziness and a bit more crisp acidity. A high-quality wine for the price, you?ll find pronounced notes of stone fruit with hints of lemon zest.
Winemaking Information
In 1958, 25 winemakers formed the Adega Cooperativa e Regional de Monção. Today, there are more than 1,720 grapegrowers associated with the cooperative. Operating out of northwestern Portugal’s Minho region and within the prized subzone Monção e Melgaço, the winemakers successfully marry quality and value in this bright white. The Alvarinho (85 percent) and Trajadura (15 percent) grapes for this blend are sourced entirely from the area. It is then fermented in stainless steel and aged briefly in bottle prior to release. 15,500 cases made, 10,000 cases imported.
